Thanksgiving – Today I am thankful for Music

Music is such a big part of all of our lives. We listen to melodies, lyrics, follow bands and musicians. We soak in their emotions and views. The emotionality of music, more than anything else, made the tragedy in Paris more tangible.. It could have been a lot of us. It could have been me.

The Eagles of Death Metal have opened up and given a touching interview (see link below). They want to help those impacted by the craziness that took place and they use the media exposure they have — “’cause they are a freaking band” — to tell the stories of those who don’t have the same podium:

So instead of spending money on things you don’t need or buying tons of food nobody can manage to eat, help others to be thankful for something. Donate to The Sweet Stuff Foundation here:

Josh Homme said it correctly, “this is not political.” This is about solidarity and empathy. So give what you can. I won’t preach something I don’t practice. I have just donated $10.

So happy Thanksgiving wherever you are. And in case your friends and family try to bring up some point of views that make you want to facepalm, just turn on Adele’s  “Halo”. Worked on SNL 😉
